Three Prescriptions For Lukewarmness (I)

From the Pastor: Dr. M. J. Seymour, Sr.
“… knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked: I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.” (Rev. 3:17b-18)
It has been said that “Necessity is the mother of invention.” Perhaps that is true when speaking of the flesh, but man’s invention of something new in the spiritual is a grotesque abomination to the Sovereign God of all Creation. The Holy Word and will of God is forever settled in the heavens. It is in need of no new renovations or inventions out of the wicked imaginations of men. It is absolutely crucial to know that God is the same yesterday, today, and forever. He changes not, therefore, when in considering the spiritual for self or His churches, one must understand the Holy Scriptures are the source for healthy Godward obedience of self and church.
Many of us have known people that were afflicted of cancers but were not aware of it until it had reached Stage III or Stage IV. So it is with many of the churches of the Lord. Jesus said of the Laodiceans, “Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; …” They had measured spiritual health by material possessions. They did not comprehend that the realm of the spiritual and the realm of the physical could not be measured by the same instruments. Thus, the Laodiceans’ spiritual heath deteriorated, because their worldly distractions became more important and the spiritual suffered great negligence unto sickness.
Our generations are inflicted with the same plagues of spiritual negligence due to the riches of material possessions and distractions. True Heaven wrought spirituality is at an all-time degradation. The spirits of men are seriously infected with fleshly lusts and inventions. Desperations abound but few are aware of the Stage of their disease. The Great Physician ordered three prescriptions!
