I Have Found A Ransom!

From the Pastor: Dr. M. J. Seymour, Sr.
“Yea, his soul draweth near unto the grave, and his life to the destroyers. If there be a messenger with him, an interpreter, one among a thousand, to shew unto man His uprightness: Then He is gracious unto him and saith, Deliver him from going down to the pit: I have found a ransom.” (Job 33:22-24)
Man rarely considers or comprehends just how near he is to the portals of eternity. He persistently fills his life with distractions in a futile attempt to escape the very thought of it. The destroyers of the souls of men are mentally transformed into some mythological fabrication of science fiction improbabilities. Unregenerate men visualize philosophical sugar plums waltzing in vain merriments to the “Everyone Ascends to the Heavens Opus.” Oh, what self-inflicted delusionments occupy those that subconsciously fear the grave’s never-filling hunger for the last breaths of men!
“IF” a man is so privileged as to have the company of a holy rarity, a heavenly trained messenger of God, he is indeed blessed of the graciousness of God. The messenger is commissioned to give understanding of the righteousness of the Father in Christ Jesus. “As it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things! But they have not all obeyed the gospel.” (Rom. 10:15-16a) How sad it is when men do not grasp the graciousness of God in the presence of that messenger, and the rare effectual grace in the holy command: “Deliver him from going down to the pit”! O, sweet jubilees!!!
Behold, the crowning proclamation, “I have found a ransom.” Glory! Glory! Glory! He has found a satisfactory payment for my eternal soul! Jesus said that he came “to give his life a ransom for many.” (Mt. 20:28) In the Hebrew this word “ransom” is also translated – redemption price, price of a life, satisfaction, pitch, and covering. The understanding is that the Father found a satisfaction in the price Jesus paid for the redemption of our eternal souls.
In the depths of His grace!

"One thing have I desired of the LORD, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to enquire in his temple."
Ps. 27:4
