When The Spirit Of God Comes

From the Pastor:  Dr. M. J. Seymour, Sr.

“And the Spirit of God came upon Zechariah the son of Jehoiada the priest, which stood above the people, and said unto them, Thus saith God, Why transgress ye the commandments of the LORD, that ye cannot prosper? because ye have forsaken the LORD, he hath also forsaken you.  And they conspired against him, and stoned him with stones …” (II Chron. 24:20-21a)

There are many that stand before gatherings of men to proclaim they have some form of message from God.  The largest percentage of time what they assert is not from the mouth of God.  They lie that they might lift up their own deceptive agendas.  Is it not written: “For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ.” (II Cor. 11:13)?  Has not God said: “I have not sent these prophets, yet they ran: I have not spoken to them, yet they prophesied.” (Jer. 23:21)  Do we with wisdom acknowledge and understand these truths?

It is immensely critical in these days to spiritually discern the difference between the two, for the wolves are not an endangered species, but true men of God are in danger of extinction.  Are not the days at hand of severe famine, “not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the LORD:”?  Why?  Where are the men sent by God and empowered by His Spirit?  Do we not read: “because ye have forsaken the LORD, he hath also forsaken you.”?     When the Spirit of God comes upon authentic men of God, the words they speak will ignite devilish anger in the unregenerate.  Lost men loathe what God has to say of their wickedness and of their condemnation.  When the Spirit of God comes there will be godly sorrow unto repentance or irrepressible rage from the masses.  When the Spirit comes few will be sealed unto eternal life but many unto eternal damnation.  When the Spirit of God comes the angels of heaven and hell will give witness to the power of the Gospel of Jesus.  Who will pray for the Spirit of God to come in great power?
