From the Pastor: Dr. M. J. Seymour, Sr.
“For the word of God is quick,
and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the
dividing asunder of the soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow
and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.” (Heb. 4:12)
All
things are laid bare before God because of the Word’s precision in
dissecting righteousness from unrighteousness. Therefore, every
creature is manifested
down to the precise thought and intent of the heart. Many of the
Scriptures of the Word are said to have two sharp edges; that is, as the
passage cuts one way it lays bare the righteousness of the matter and
as it cut in the opposite direction it lays bare the unrighteousness of the matter. Such is the case with the latter part of Genesis 3:16 – “Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee.” (Bro. David Hitt, Sr. helped spark this devotion.)
The
way of righteousness God mandated was that the wife’s “desire” shall be
“to” her husband. In the morally correct purpose of God it means for
the wife to direct her desires to be pleasing and her lusts toward her
own husband. “For after this manner in the old time the holy women
also, who trusted in God, adorned themselves, being in subjection unto
their own husbands:” (I Pet. 3:5)
As
the Sword dissects the other way to lay bare unrighteousness we shall
find it concealed in the same words. “Desire” in the negative can be
used to signify the craving of a wild beast to devour its
prey. Rebellion is the sin of witchcraft, and to rebel against the
righteousness of God is the result of having come under the spell of
Satan’s witchcraft fighting against God. When a wife seeks to devour
her husband (love and authority), it unveils the truth that the
thoughts and the intents of her heart are unrighteous and
rebellious. Thus, instead of the family unit being in holy harmony, it
becomes a pack of fighting mongrels dysfunctional and void of
righteousness.
