A Thought From Our
Pastor:
Bowing
To The World.
“Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God.” Romans 13:1
“Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God.” Romans 13:1
It is true that all powers that be are ordained of
God. It is also true that all world leaders that sit in ruler ship of the
world are ordained of God. We are as believers in Jesus Christ subject to the
powers that be. However that is; we are not to simply agree with the world!
We live in a world that Satan controls and will control until Jesus Christ
takes that authority away during the millennium period. And while we are
subject to the law’s that be, this does not mean we are to simply bow
down to every law they make. We are not to accept laws that disobey the
scriptures, we are not to obey laws that subject Christians to the lost mans
desire. Peter told us in Acts 5:29 “…We ought to obey God rather
than men.” We are followers of God first and just because God causes
something or allows something to be, does not mean it is good for us to be a
part of it. The scriptures are our law and rule in this life, and lost people
are not interested in what they say. Abortion is legal in America however it is still
murder and God still says we are not to murder.
God told Adam in regards to his sin; “…
Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten
of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it:
cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all
the days of thy life;” Genesis 3:17 God told us as Christians to give
the world what belongs to them, but unto God what is due Him, and all of our
allegiance belongs to Him. Sin is sin regardless of who we blame it on. 1
Samuel 15:24 says “And Saul said unto Samuel, I have sinned: for I have
transgressed the commandment of the LORD, and thy words: because I feared
the people, and obeyed their voice.” We simply cannot obey the
voice of the world and blame our stupidity on the other person. I believe
Adam did that and God did not accept it. If we as Christians obey the voice
of the world then we will be punished with the world.
God has a purpose for all things He does and He is
not a one size fits all God. What God does with this world is not always for
His saved servants. This world is heading toward the tribulation period and
we as Christians are not because Christ will catch us out before it starts.
And while we must suffer through all the bad because it rains of the just and
unjust, we do not always have to accept the will of God for the world as His
will for us Christians. Abortion is legal but not for Christians therefore we
must stay away for abortions. So when religious leaders such as the SBC or
any other source tell us we must accept something as Gods will and not fight
against it, they could not be more wrong. Any Christian that surrenders to
the laws of the world as the laws of God for us is wrong. We are to always
obey Gods Holy Script and nothing else, ever.
Folks, God is the commander of all things, His
blessed will is always accomplished. He controls every detail of everything,
and He is never off duty or on vacation. Why God allows something or causes
something does not mean we know His purpose in doing it. We are to accept
what happens as Gods will, but it is not always His will for us His children.
Do not ever accept anything as Gods will for us just because it is his will
for a lost and dying world. Always obey Gods blessed word and nothing else.
For Our Weekly Meditation:
The
acorns with which God feeds swine!
"I envied the arrogant when I saw the prosperity of the wicked!" Psalm 73:3
"I envied the arrogant when I saw the prosperity of the wicked!" Psalm 73:3
“Give unto the LORD the glory due unto his
name: bring an offering, and come before him: worship the LORD in the beauty
of holiness.” (I Chron. 16:29) “…God loveth a cheerful
giver.” (II Cor. 9:7)
It is often that the evil enjoy all the good—and the good endure all the evil. Be contented; for remember:
It is often that the evil enjoy all the good—and the good endure all the evil. Be contented; for remember:
Worldly goods are not the only things, nor the best
things. They are mere temporal blessings. These are but the acorns with which
God feeds swine! You who are believers have more choice fruit—the
olive, the pomegranate, the fruit which grows on the true vine Jesus Christ!
Others have the fat of the earth—you have the dew of heaven! They have
muddied puddles—but you have those springs of living water which are
purified with Christ's blood, and filled with His love!
To see the wicked flourish is rather a matter of
pity, than of envy! This is all the heaven they will have! "Woe to you
who are rich, for you have your only happiness now!" (Luke 6:24) Hence
it was, that David made it his solemn prayer, "Deliver me from the
wicked, from men of the world, who have their portion in this life!"
Psalm 17:15
When the wicked have eaten of their dainty
dishes—there comes in a sad reckoning, which will spoil all.
We should not envy a man who will fry and blaze in
hell—let him have enough of the fat of the earth. O remember—for
every sand of mercy which runs out of the wicked, God puts a drop of wrath
into His vial! "You are storing up wrath for yourself in the day of
wrath, when God’s righteous judgment is revealed." Romans 2:5
Do you envy the wicked? Alas! their prosperity is
like Haman's banquet—before his execution! If a man were to be
hanged—would you envy to see him walk to the gallows through pleasant
fields, or to see him go up the ladder in expensive clothing?
"I will curse your blessings!" (Malachi
2:2) Whatever a sinner enjoys—he has a curse with it! And shall we envy
him? Would we envy a dog—if poisoned food was given to it!
