Who Touched Me?

From the Pastor: Dr. M. J. Seymour, Sr.
“And Jesus said, Who touched me? When all denied, Peter and they that were with him said, Master, the multitude throng thee and press thee, and sayest thou, Who touched me? And Jesus said, Somebody hath touched me: for I perceive that virtue is gone out of me.” (Lk. 8:45-46)
Oh, what a blessed thing indeed it would be to be able to touch the precious Lamb of God, the hallowed Lord of Glory, the only begotten of the Father! Just the very thought of being close enough to look upon Jesus our Redeemer, much less to reach out and physically touch Him, is enough to thrill the depths of the humblest of hearts. One touch would be more than enough for eternity!
The woman not only touched the Lord physically, but she also touched Him emotionally. Jesus was moved by her desperation, her need, and her determination to grasp a holy crumb of hope from the Master. Thus, Jesus responded by saying, “Daughter, be of good comfort: thy faith hath made thee whole: go in peace.” (Lk. 8:48) She touched the kind heart of the Christ by full of faith persistence.
The thief on the cross next to Jesus touched Him spiritually when he said, “Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom. And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with me in paradise.” (Lk. 23:42-43) The hopeless one encountered hope on his death-cross next to “the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.” (Jn. 1:29) Jesus was touched in the spirit even in His death; but did He not come to save sinners?
Arrogant men attempt to impose themselves upon Jesus to force Him to save them, to heal them, and to obey their every demand. It shall not be with the King of kings and Lord of lords! Jesus obeys no man! However, a humble sincere heart of faith can reach to the throne where Jesus sits and touch the Lord’s ear, heart, and power amid the blood of saving grace. Prayers on the wings of the Holy Spirit will soar to heavenly pinnacles and by faith touch the Master.
