From the Pastor: Dr. M. J. Seymour, Sr.
“But the wicked are like the troubled sea, when it cannot rest, whose waters cast up mire and dirt. There is no peace, saith my God, to the wicked.” (Is. 57:20-21)
We are frequently distraught with the intensity of wicked and inhumane violence flooding on the world stage. Seemingly, the whole world has erupted into mindless chaos. There appears to be no rhyme or reason for the insanity of it all. It appears that SIN rules the day and peace of mind and heart is a scarce commodity.
The root of these rampant mad cravings for all out degradation is embedded in the spiritual bankruptcy of men’s hearts and souls. We wrongfully presume that there is good in all men, but the Holy Bible reveals that there is “none good, no not one.” Where light is absent, there is utter darkness; even so, where the righteousness of God does not abide, the unrighteousness of the Wicked One overly excels. Absolutely all of the mayhem of society’s woes can be traced directly to the absence of the holy righteousness of God in Jesus Christ. This may be a bitter pill to swallow but it is God’s truth. There can be no rest, no peace, where wickedness abounds!
There is place of sweet rest and peace, but it is found only in Jesus Christ the Son of the living God. It is written: “Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.” (Rom. 15:13) Religious fanaticism has never brought anything upon men but extreme cruelty. However, believing into Jesus Christ through the Gospel message under the power of the Holy Spirit brings a heavenly peace for the heart and mind that passes all understanding.
To those who refuse to believe into Jesus, the Redeemer of men’s souls, God says, “NO PEACE!” For their eternity God promises that “the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night…” (Rev. 14:11) If one is traumatized in this world, think of Satan’s eternal brutality in hell.
