A Thought From our Pastor:

Two Forbidden Words.1 Peter 2:15 “For so is the will of God, that with well doing ye may put to silence the ignorance of foolish men:”

There are certain words that as Christians we ought not say, and two of them are “Ignorance”, and “Foolishness”, but why not? These are not insulting words to people, we just take them to be insulting. God used them and used them much. See when it comes to God’s word, it says so much that offends people that most Pastors have by-passed the scriptures for common sense preaching. Most have determined the Bible to be an insulting book. We are taught to mock another person in any way is not good, therefore we ought to by-pass the truth and teach lies to make everything “politically correct”. There are two things I truly hate that many people do, I hate it when people ignore the scripters, and I hate people teaching lies. To be ignorant means – a person does not have the knowledge of something – the word foolish means - mindless, or unbelieving – neither one of these words are critical of a person, they are words to describe a person that simply does not understand. Personally I am ignorant of a lot of things, and foolish on others. However, the worst ignorance is, ignorance in the scriptures. Man has the scriptures so watered down that they have become worthless to teach. Now, what is teaching the scriptures? Teaching the scriptures is an ability to teach verse by verse, chapter by chapter, and book by book in the context that they are written. If you will notice there are a lot of Preachers that spend useless, time consuming talk rather than preaching. Preaching is not reading a passage of scriptures and then consuming time with a story or a joke or etc. When the church is together it is God’s time with us. It is time to spiritually worship the Lord and to dwell in the truths of His word. God said there is only two ways to worship God, in spirit and in truth. John 4:24 “God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.” A spiritual worship of God is to hear the word of God and to have fellowship with God as the sermon is being taught. Second, if there is no truth from the teacher then there is no fellowship. You cannot fellowship in lies with God. Please do not be fooled by who is teaching. There are good men, men with great higher learning, all the way to a PhD that are ignorant to the scriptures. And, on the flip side there are uneducated men who teach the scriptures and are masterful in the scriptures. I knew a man (Forrest Keener) who had no high school graduation who created a masterful bible study course for home seminary education, and was a masterful Preacher. Never judge a servant of God on his educational level, but on his biblical education from the Holy Spirit. Look at what God said, “In that hour Jesus rejoiced in spirit, and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes: even so, Father; for so it seemed good in thy sight. Luke 10:21 God hid the truth from the educated and revealed them the simple minded. A man can be book educated but that is not bible educated. Oh, I know they desire to teach the bible but they are ignorant and foolish in the scriptures. God also said, “For I tell you, that many prophets and kings have desired to see those things which ye see, and have not seen them; and to hear those things which ye hear, and have not heard them.” Luke 10:24 If God has not taught them to you through the Holy Spirit, then you have not learned them, that is learned the truth. It I easy to learn Satan’s lies, but impossible to learn God’s truths unless God teaches them to you. How is your Pastor? Does he teach the bible or earthly fiction? Do not be fooled by his great knowledge from a Seminary of a University is he God educated or ignorant and foolish?

What was wrong with him?By Arthur Pink

"One thing you lack" Mark 10:21

Those words addressed by our Lord to the rich young ruler who had approached Him with such apparent eagerness and earnestness, and in whom there were some admirable qualities which are rarely found in young men, especially those of affluence.

Yet there was a fatal defect, for the sequel informs us that he turned from Christ, and "went away sad" (Mark 10:22). What was wrong with him? "'One thing you lack—Go, sell everything you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow Me.' At this the man's face fell. He went away sad, because he had great wealth." (Mark 10:21-22).

There was a struggle between his convictions and his corruptions; he desired to serve two masters—God and mammon; and when Christ told him that was impossible, he was chagrined.

His fatal deficiency may be described in a variety of ways. He had no conviction that he was a ruined, lost and Hell-deserving sinner, no consciousness that he was a spiritual leper in the sight of God, no realization of his utter helplessness to better his condition. Though religious, he was still in nature's darkness, and therefore, his affections were not raised above the vanities of this world. There was no love for God within him; and consequently, he was unwilling to deny himself, abandon his idols, and give God His rightful place in his life—serving, pleasing, and enjoying Him. He lacked a real and unreserved surrender of his heart to God.

Is that the case with you, dear reader?
