A Thought From Our Pastor:
He Is Risen!Matthew 28:1 - 2 "In the end of the sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the sepulchre. (2.) And, behold, there was a great earthquake: for the angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat upon it."
While the world celebrates Easter, let us as Christians celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Every Sunday morning is our celebration of our Lord and Saviour's resurrection, and without fail. It is important that we remember the resurrection of our Lord because without it, we have no Saviour, and we all believe in vain. "But if there be no resurrection of the dead, then is Christ not risen: (14.) And if Christ be not risen, then is our preaching vain, and your faith is also vain." 1 Corinthians 15:13 - 14 The world will celebrate Easter with new dresses, pretty hats, the Easter bunny, candy, and etc, etc, etc, but as Christians we remember the resurrection of Jesus Christ as we should every single Sunday Morning. The average person will attend church for their first time of the two that they attend, because they are known as CEO Christians (Christmas and Easter Only). You can see why we as church members do not get involved in Easter because every Sunday is our celebration and we will not exchange our Lord for a bunny.
The greatest promise we have of God is the gospel and that is the DEATH, BURRIAL, and RESURRECTION of Jesus Christ. Paul made the argument because if there be no resurrection then all they who have gone before us lay silently in a grave and without hope. When God promised that, they would come with our Lord. "For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him." 1 Thessalonians 4:14 Without the resurrection of Jesus Christ there is no salvation. "Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also." John 14:19
You can see the importance of celebration, but right and properly. If one wants to celebrate Easter, with all its worldliness then please go ahead; but please do not tie it to the resurrection of Jesus Christ. It is not my job to change the world, but to preach the gospel to them. Therefore, I cry "Jesus is risen; Jesus is alive" and if you believe in Him you too may also live eternally with Him. 2 Corinthians 4:13 - 14 "We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak; (14.) Knowing that he which raised up the Lord Jesus shall raise up us also by Jesus, and shall present us with you."
A Thought For The Week:
Your good things are all yet to come!"Let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God!" Hebrews 12:1-2

We must run with perseverance — or we shall never obtain. There may be many things we cannot understand, much that the flesh could perhaps wish otherwise — but let us endure unto the end, and all shall be made clear, and God's arrangements shall be proved best. Think not to have your reward on earth — do not draw back, because your good things are all yet to come.
Today is the cross — but tomorrow is the crown.
Today is the labor — but tomorrow are the wages.
Today is the sowing — but tomorrow is the harvest.
Today is the battle — but tomorrow is the rest.
Today is the weeping — but tomorrow is the joy.
And what is today, when compared to tomorrow? Today is but seventy years — but tomorrow is eternity!
"Run in such a way as to get the prize!" 1 Corinthians 9:24

By J.C. Ryle
Look Unto Me, And Be Ye Saved;
“Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else. I have sworn by myself, the word is gone out of my mouth in righteousness, and shall not return, That unto me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall swear. Surely, shall one say, in the LORD have I righteousness and strength: even to him shall men come; and all that are incensed against him shall be ashamed.” (Is. 45:22-24)
“Look” from the language means to turn toward and face. Salvation of the condemned is dependent upon turning them from facing the way of darkness and toward being spiritually captivated by the irresistible light of the face of God. According to Jesus, Paul’s calling to the Gentiles was: “To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me.” (Acts 26:18) Deliverance to the uttermost is realized in the face to face encounter with the Almighty God through the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ.
The reason is because “I am God, and there is none else.” Also, it is because “unto me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall swear.” The words “shall bow” in the text means shall be brought down to their knees. If there be only one God and that in the Day of Judgment every knee shall forced down unto Him, then He is the Sovereign Eternal God worthy of all holy reverence and faithful obedience unto His spoken words of what His righteousness is.
But, what is meant by “every tongue shall swear”? The answer is in the following verse: “in the LORD have I righteousness.” In the Day when every knee is forced to bow every tongue will verify by an open declaration that there is no other God and that He alone is the purity of true righteousness. Equally so, everyone that burns in their anger against God will be put to shame as they are cast into eternal dark abyss exiled away from the light of the face of God.
