A Thought From Our Pastor::
Thank you Lord God For Your Glorious Gift. John 1:1 “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”
In the beginning was the Word, and the word was God. In verse 14 it says “And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us…” What a wonderful thing God hath blessed us with, the Saviour of mankind has come, come in the form of a man, in the likeness of sinful flesh, to give His life as a salvation for sinful man. It was before time, before creation, before the angels, it was before the beginning Gen. 1:1, God elected to send His beloved Son to this world to die for our sins. He was the Messiah that Israel was looking for, the Messiah they had hoped for, the Messiah sent from God they looked for in the Old Testament time; and they rejected Him. "He came unto his own, and his own received him not." John 1:11 He was totally rejected by the very nation chosen of God and which He was born one of. He was not a blessing to them but rather a curse. A curse that they could not wait to kill for living a sin free life, for resisting Satan’s temptation, for preaching truth, for healing the blind, the mute, and the deaf. This man sent from God was to bring salvation, life, joy, and peace was simply too much for the people to stand, so He must die. John went on to say, “He that cometh from above is above all: he that is of the earth is earthly, and speaketh of the earth: he that cometh from heaven is above all. (32.) And what he hath seen and heard, that he testifieth; and no man receiveth his testimony." John 3:31 – 32 The Israelites hated the blessing from God so much that they shouted CRUCIFY HIM! And crucify Him they did, like a sinner, like the worst among us. They hated Him so much they released a murder to make room for Him at the mount. However, as He had began to die things started to happen, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom, the earth did quake, rocks were torn into half, graves were opened and dead bodies of the saints of God walked the streets, God had lifted His hand and slapped the earth to show them what they had done. It was so powerful the centurion (the captain of one hundred men) shouted Truly this was the Son of God "Now when the centurion, and they that were with him, watching Jesus, saw the earthquake, and those things that were done, they feared greatly, saying, Truly this was the Son of God." Matthew 27:54 Indeed this was the Son of man paying the hell penalty for all the elect of God. What a powerful event this was when they crucified the Son of man. Thank God for His glorious gift He has given to us in Christ Jesus. He may have been rejected by His own, He might be rejected by religionist of our time, He may be rejected by world governments, He might be rejected by all lost people, but thank God I believe in Jesus Christ as my eternal salvation. God said salvation is a gift and indeed it is a glorious gift from God to those whom He loves. "For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." Romans 6:23
A Though For Your Bible Study:
The littles"Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground apart from the will of your Father. And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. So don't be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows!" Matthew 10:29-31
I would, with special earnestness, beg you to believe that God is in little things.

It is the little troubles of life that annoy us the most. A man can put up with the loss of a dear friend sometimes, better than he can with the burning of his fingers with a coal, or some little accident that may occur to him. The little stones in the sandal make the traveler limp; while great stones do him little hurt, for he soon leaps over them.

Believe that God arranges the littles. Take the little troubles as they come and bring them to your God, because they come from God. Believe that nothing is little to God, which concerns His people. To Him, indeed, your greatest concerns may be said to be little; and your little anxieties are not too small for His notice.

The very hairs of your head are all numbered; you may, therefore, pray to him about your smallest griefs. If not a sparrow hops upon the ground without your Father — you have reason to see that the smallest events in your career are arranged by Him, and it should be your joy to accept them as they come, and not make them causes of irritation, either to others or to yourselves.

This is a truth on which you may rely implicitly, and exercise yourselves continually, until you . . .
lull the sharpest pains,
calm the most feverish excitements, and
obtain the sweetest repose that a Christian can indulge in.

Everything in the future is appointed by God. All is in the hand of the great King. The Lord is King; let his people rejoice!
By Charles Spurgeon, from his "A Safe Prospective," 1869

An Extra Thought:

Christ took your cup of grief, your cup of the curse — pressed it to His lips, and drank it to its dregs! Then He filled it with His sweet, pardoning, sympathizing love — and gave it back for you to drink, and to drink forever! Ephesians 3:19 -Octavius Winslow
