From the Pastor: Dr. M. J. Seymour, Sr.
“… knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked: I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.” (Rev. 3:17b-18)
Then Jesus sums it up in verse 19 by saying: “As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.” Lukewarmness is not a fatal disease unless we allow it to go untreated. It is out of love that Jesus rebukes and chastens in an effort to spark a desire for spiritual healing. Of what value is life in Jesus without a red hot passion resulting out of true gratitude for His blood bought redemption of our eternal souls? It is horrendously sad that “Christianity”has so embedded itself into a materialistic quagmire. Must we expend what days we have left enslaved to that which shall perish? Brethren, must it be so? Heal us O God!!!
Did anyone notice the origins of the three plagues? They are the pride of life, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes. Imagine that? As it was in the beginning with father Adam and mother Eve so it has always been and will always be true this side of eternity. The downfall of men comes when they wander away from walking in the light of the Father having been enticed and infatuated with the forbidden. Rational spiritually becomes afflicted by the infectious plagues of fleshly passions. As man distances himself from the Father the fires of holiness become increasingly more difficult to give heat from the darkness. A closer walk provides more heat.
Brethren, the plague of Lukewarmness has reached the pandemic Stage IV. Let us flee with haste to the Great Physician and earnestly plead for His spirit healing prescriptions, and be ever so devout in His life giving commands. Jesus prescribed repentance and zealousness; that is, turn from materialism and seek a fire in the bones that cannot be quenched. Be spiritually healthy, my brethren!
