Three Prescriptions For Lukewarmness (IV)

From the Pastor: Dr. M. J. Seymour, Sr.
“… knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked: I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.” (Rev. 3:17b-18)
The third prescription is to anoint your eyes with eyesalve. The term in context has the force of Holy Spirit unction. Spiritual knowledge with understanding is not within the grasp of worldly intellect. Apostle Paul put it this way: “For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God, knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God.”(I Cor. 2:11) The things of this world are of no value in the comprehension of the mind of God and His purpose for the saints. Therefore, our fleshly eyes are blind to the spiritual and the only the holy eyesalve of the Spirit has the power to transcend the flesh into the mind of God.
When Kind David asked his brothers and Israel, “Is there not a cause?” it was because their eyes were fixed upon the physical and not the spiritual. Their thoughts were distracted and darkened unable to perceive “the armies of the living God.” Heavenly fire in the bones requires Spirit enhanced visions of the Holy Fires of the Heavens inflamed by the power of the Almighty. Oh that the Spirit of the Almighty would rub into our eyes fiery images of spirituality!
Devout usage of the Spirit’s eyesalve will embolden even the faintest of the sons of God. How can one continually be instructed in the wonders, knowledge, and grace of the Father and remain lukewarm? Lukewarmness is indeed a horrid sickness but it is not incurable. “I was blind but now I see” is not so much in reference to the flesh as it is to the spirit of materially diseased believers.
There are vast healing essentials gifted in the revealed truths of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Give a believer purpose with fire in the bones, then watch him burnout for Christ sake!
