Blue Letter Bible

If we say that we have no sin, we deceive
ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful
and just to forgive us [our] sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
(1 John 1:8-9)
Praise be to our loving Father for his grace and
kindness toward His repentant children! Though we stand the sin-stained sons of
fallen Adam. Though we wallow in the soul-corrupting death-reek by which we
were even conceived. Though we bear our lives forth in the habits of wickedness
to which our base natures are so accustomed, still does the Lord remain ever
faithful to forgive those who ask it of Him! Still does the Master of all look
kindly upon His children, ever resurrecting their hearts to new life! Still
does the Father of all glory count us, who are worthless of our own measure, to
be worthy the sacrifice of the very Son of heaven! Praise Him again! Praise be
to the King of all creation, most merciful and true!
