The LORD Took Me

From the Pastor: Dr. M. J. Seymour, Sr.

“And the LORD took me as I followed the flock, and the LORD said unto me, Go, prophesy unto my people Israel. Now therefore hear thou the word of the LORD: …” (Amos 7:15-16a) “But when it pleased God, who separated me from my mother’s womb, and called me by his grace, To reveal his Son in me, that I might preach him among the heathen; immediately I conferred not with flesh and blood:” (Gal. 1:15-16) Whereupon, O king Agrippa, I was not disobedient unto the heavenly vision:” (Acts 26:19)

Amos and Paul are perfect Biblical examples of how God exercises the sovereignty of His own will in the calling out of the genuine holy men of God, and in equipping them to proclaim “Thus saith the LORD our God!” Contrary to popular practice, God is in absolute control of this holy office. When man blunders into God’s business, he violates His divine order of things and His decrees. Read Numbers 16 and take heed how God opened up the earth and cast alive those into hell that were so presumptuous as to intrude into the holy offices that they were not called of God to serve. Much damage has been done to the cause of Christ by self-called preachers. This is the root of every false doctrine and the multitude of denominations counterfeiting as “Christian Churches.”

Men not called of God conjure up unbearable bondages out of whorish monstrosities. Their works are born at the gates of hell. Satan fertilizes the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life to bring forth religions of self-aggrandizement. Those that enter into the ministry not called by God are called by Satan. The Scriptures warn: “For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. … transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.” (see II Cor. 11:13-15) If God is not the author of confusion, who is? All religions not built upon the faith once delivered unto the apostles are birthed within the tower of Babel, the mother of all spiritual whoredom. Self-made ministers are not the offspring of the gracious gift of the heavenly Father, but are horrid abortions of Satan’s deceptions, mere puppets upon his strings.

When God takes a man and makes him His minister, He equips His man to proclaim: “Hear thou the Word of the LORD!”
