A Thought From Pastor Johnson:
Are You Fearing God?
"It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God." Hebrews 10:31
I believe the world’s biggest problem is a lack of fear of Almighty God. I believe people have been taught (and even in some churches) that God is love and therefore He has nothing but love for the entire world. Well let me say that if that is your pastors teaching you had better leave his teaching. It is true that God is a God of love because without love none of us would have ever been saved. It is equally true that He is a God of forgiveness and longsuffering. However, it must also be equally said and with much boldness that God is also a God of judgment, and punishment. The tribulation will not be a time of love, grace, or forgiveness and neither will hell be; these are all times of judgment and punishment. God showing His wrath on mankind for the evil they have had in their hearts against God. People who do not fear God are ignorant, ignorant in that they have no idea what it is like to fall into the hands of an angry God. God is not always going to be longsuffering with man; in fact time is running shorter with the passing of each day. Falling into the hands of an angry God will be brutal for all that do. While the Christian is saved from Gods wrath they can be chastened, and punished by God. God only loves us if He lovingly corrects our wrong. “As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.” Revelation 3:19 This is to both Christians and even churches. "My son, despise not the chastening of the LORD; neither be weary of his correction: (12.) For whom the LORD loveth he correcteth; even as a father the son in whom he delighteth." Proverbs 3:11 – 12 Chastening is Gods show of love to those whom He loves, but the wrath of God is for the lost and it will be great and furious. As the writer said it is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of an angry God.
Sometimes Christians can grow hardened hearts to God and forget about His chastening until He comes with it. Let us never forget God is to be feared. God is not a man but rather a Deity and He can and will bring chastisement if He deems it necessary. One day the world will pay account for their sins against God and His people, but what they do, they do out of ignorance. However, the Christian should know better. It is an elementary biblical education for us to understand that God requires certain things of His beloved children and that He can cause us to do His good pleasure and will. Philippians 2:13 “For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.” For Christians to fall away from Gods commandments to satisfy the flesh is not a good thing and in doing so one must lack in their fear of God to do so. Beloved if we truly had the fear of God fully installed in our hearts we would never disobey Gods commandments. All our sins are washed in the blood of Christ Jesus but that does not justify disobedience.
One day all man kind will understand the power and judgment of God and those that do not fear the Almighty now will, and so much so that they will bow their know before the righteous Judge Jesus Christ, and this will not be an option, they will not need to decide to do it or make a choice of it, it will be Gods command that will be obeyed. Once they see Jesus Christ fear will fall all over them. God is to be greatly feared, and fearing Him is something every Christian ought to do. If you are not taught to fear God in your life you are in the wrong church.

A Thought From Oscar Mink, Our Former Pastor:
The Lord’s Day
“... The first day of the week ... the disciples were assembled ...” John 20:19
“Upon the first day of the week when the disciples came together ...” Acts 20:7
“Upon the first day of the week let every one of you lay by him in store, as God hath prospered him ...” I Corinthians 16:2
1. All who devote it to sporting events and physical exercise reveal that they are primarily concerned with being amused animals with good physical health.
2. All who devote it to fishing and/or hunting, show the priority they have given to personal pleasure over the honor of God.
3. All who give it to visiting relatives and friends reveal that they are satisfied with the associations of this vain earth.
4. All who consistently give it to secular labor, deny that “Godliness with contentment is great gain” (I Timothy 6:6).
5. All who give it to sleep and leisure, manifest that they care nothing for the Master’s business.
6. All who give it to worshipping God in His appointed way, reveal they are children of God, and love the presence of their heavenly Father; Who has promised to meet with them and Who has graciously given them every day of their lives (Ecclesiastes 3:2; Matthew 18:20).
“Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is ...” Hebrews 10:25
