From the Pastor:
Dr. M. J. Seymour, Sr.
“Do ye
think that the scripture saith in vain, The spirit that dwelleth in us lusteth
to envy?” (James 4:5)
“The LORD thy God in the midst of thee is
mighty; he will save, he will rejoice over thee with joy; he will rest in his
love, he will joy over thee with singing.” (Zeph. 3:17)
Just
how much do we trust the validity of the Holy Scriptures? I fear that far too many have no clue to the
depths of God’s marvelous grace. Oh, how
blessed are the sweet graces of the Father as He lovingly hovers over His
blessed children. If we could but
believe, what glorious rejoicings we could share with Him! Oh, the floods of joys that would fill our
souls!
The
Father’s Holy Spirit dwells within all that are His. God has determined and secured our
relationship with Himself. That is to
say, He has entrusted the task to no one else.
That which is born of God is not left unsecured. It is His purchased possession and His
birthed creation. None shall steal His
children away. His Spirit dotes upon them
in proud parental jealousy, treasures of His heart.
The
word “dwelleth” means to take up permanent abode. The Father has settled down in the hearts and
lives of His children everlastingly, and He shall not be moved. He is the Almighty and is dauntless in His
fatherhood. Yet, His fatherhood expands well
beyond divine protection. He raises us up
in the palm of His hand and beholds His wondrous works of mercy and grace.
The Father
examines the works of His hands and rejoices. “Rejoice” carries the thought of bringing brightness,
while “joy” is the ushering in of gladness. As the Potter gazes upon His creativity in shaping
His clay, it brings a special brightness to His Spirit and ushers in holy gladness,
for all His works are the perfection of the Master. This brightness and gladness invoke joyous melodies
springing forth from the bosom of the Holy of Holies. Can the heaven of heavens silence the singing of
the Almighty Creator?
