Believe and live

Daily Promises
Blue Letter Bible
March 14, 2010
And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions [that were] under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance. (Hebrews 9:15)
What could Moses and his covenant offer but the looming spectre of death? The Law, impossibly harsh, was but a servant, bringing those under it to the inevitable conclusion of awaiting doom. Yet the mediator of the new covenant is so far greater than the Law! His blood speaks better things than the death and vengeful demand for which Abel's blood cried—His blood speaks life! And that eternal! Life everlasting is promised to all those who believe; so believe, rejoice, and take hold of the very promised rest of Christ!
