Gossip is a
very serious sin that destroys the lives of the subject of the gossip, but also
the members of that person’s family, and in the case of a believer, the members
of that person’s church and the reputation of the church. Yet many Baptists, even
true Sovereign Grace Baptists, seem to think nothing of it and engage often
freely in it and don’t even bother to check the facts and if it is even true. Even
if it is true, is it really to be repeated as a tale? Don’t we all have enough
to deal with our own lives and sins? Gossip is a serious sin that has serious
consequences in many lives. It can never be undone and I believe it will
eventually backfire on the person propagating the gossip. Also, the one that
listens is just as guilty. And remember when you hurt and destroy one of God’s
people, it is like you do in unto Jesus!!!!

19 A false witness
[that] speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.

tumults:
