A Though For Your Bible Study:
God's most comforting attribute!
"And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose!" Romans 8:28
There is no attribute of God more comforting to His children than that of God's sovereignty. Under the most adverse circumstances, in the most severe troubles, they believe . . .
that Sovereignty has ordained their afflictions,
that Sovereignty overrules them, and
that Sovereignty will sanctify them all.
There is nothing for which the children of God ought more earnestly to contend, than . . .
the doctrine of their Master ruling over all creation,
the kingship of God over all the works of His own hand,
the throne of God, and His right to reign upon that throne.
"Our God is in the heavens; He does whatever He pleases!" Psalm 115:3
"All the peoples of the earth are regarded as nothing. He does as He pleases with the powers of heaven and the peoples of the earth." Daniel 4:35
"Hallelujah! For our Lord God Almighty reigns!" Revelation 19:6
"To be God and sovereign are inseparable!" (Stephen Charnock)
"Sovereignty characterizes the whole being of God. He is sovereign in all His attributes!" (Arthur Pink)
"God has sovereign right to dispose of us as He pleases. We ought to acquiesce in all that God does with us and to us." (William Carey)
By Charles Spurgeon
A Thought From Our Pastor::
Christians Are Not Murders! Romans 5:5 "And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us."
I believe that when people link Christians to murders they do so in ignorance. What people do in Christianity or in the name of Christ does not always mean it truly has been done in His name. We as Christians find ourselves defending the cause of Christ every time someone who has no idea what a Christian is makes statements out of ignorance about Christianity. We find ourselves once again having to defend our faith because we have been compared to ISIS. Christianity is nothing like ISIS or Islam in any uncertain terms and I personally am insulted when we as Christians are compared to evil. It is true that many through history have murdered in the name of Christ but they were simply religious groups calling themselves Christians, when they were truly an army of Satan appearing as an angel of light. Every time someone murders an abortion doctor, Christians are blamed. As Christians we are to be a peaceful people and for the most part Christians are peaceful. We are to love our enemies and turn the other cheek to those who have slapped the other. It truly sickens me when people of scriptural ignorance cannot tell the difference between a Christian and a murderer. It is a fact that not everyone who claims to be a Christian is one. There are complete denominations of religionist who call themselves Christians who have no idea who Christ is or what His ways are. In our history we have had millions of believers killed by people who thought they were doing God’s will but were rather doing Satan’s will. I have been a minister over 32 years and a Pastor going on 11 years and I have heard hundreds of Baptist Pastors, Missionaries, and Evangelist speak about the bible and not one single time has one of theses speakers (including myself) ever told another Christian to harm anyone at any time, no matter what. We pray for the lost and the heathenistic among us and even those who want to do us harm. We do not desire to steal what belongs to others, nor do we seek to invade others for land or property. We know that everything belongs to God and one day it will all belong to us anyway. It is true that Christians are not perfect and over time we have made errors and have sinned against others, but we are not ISIS nor are we anything like Islam. So the next time someone makes a statement out of ignorance about Christians please just remembers the source and ignore them. History is not always correct and real Christians have never been a people of murder and harm. Real Christians have the love of God in their hearts and that keeps us from evil.

Happy Birthday Brother Timothy Fails Thursday February 12 Happy 16th!!!
Altogether lovely!
In Jesus are . . .
riches — if you are poor;
honor — if you are despised;
friendship — if you are forsaken;
help — if you are injured;
mercy — if you are miserable;
joy — if you are disconsolate;
protection — if you are in danger;
deliverance — if you are a captive;
life — if you are mortal; and
all things — if you have nothing at all.
Time and eternity are His — and He can give you all the glorious things of eternity!
