The Pastors Corner:

Jesus The Saviour of Mankind!
“When Jesus had lifted up himself, and saw none but the woman, he said unto her, Woman, where are those thine accusers? hath no man condemned thee? (11.) She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.” John 8:10 - 11

Here in John we have the account of the adulterous that was brought to Jesus for condemnation for adultery, however Jesus did not condemn here but instead saved her soul. If we went by Old Testament law then this woman should have been stoned to death however we are not under Old Testament law but under the law of grace. God has different periods of time and today is the time of grace, the time of judgment is coming and more quickly than we realize. This time is found in the book of Revelations, and this time of judgment will be quick and very hurtful for all of those who are on this earth. As we see the seals broken, the trumpets blown, and the vials empted out we see nothing but judgment on this wicked world. Also as we look at the book of Revelations we see a very small remnant saved and those are predominately if not exclusively Jews. What we absolutely do not find in the Tribulation Period is grace and mercy. I was often told as a child that “if one does not take the mark of the beast then we will be saved” however like so much we hear today about the scriptures that is also a myth. God said in 2 Thessalonians 2:9 - 12 “Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, (10.) And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. (11.) And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: (12.) That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.” God will not allow those in the Tribulation Period to be saved because it is not a time for grace but a time for judgment. So if you are going to be saved it will be before Jesus returns because once He does then the time of grace is over and the time for judgment begins. The Lord warned “(...behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.)” 2 Corinthians 6:2. Tomorrow could absolutely be too late. Most people think that they will wait until they are on their death beds to be saved, however that is not the rule of salvation, the rule of salvation is God saving a sinner in order to use them for a work of glory while they are on this earth, therefore most all wanting to live their life in sin and then be saved just before death, well, good luck with that thinking because chances are very great that you will go to hell.

Today is the day of grace, and this is the reason that Jesus did not condemn this adulteries woman. Jesus said in John 3:17 “For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.” but only while we are still in the day of grace. Although this day (or time) is drawing nigh and the Day of Judgment is quickly approaching. Jesus Christ is the Saviour of mankind to everyone that believeth but only to them that trust Him as their Saviour. This passage also shows us another thought, when adultery was a horrible sin (and do not be fooled it still is today) stoning to death was the punishment, but her sin was forgiven her and you need to understand that no sin except the sin of unbelief is unforgivable. Jesus Christ died for all the sins of all who will trust Him as their Saviour. Jesus Christ came to this world to seek and to save them that are lost and this will continue until He returns so if you have not trusted Him as your Saviour then today is the time for that because if Jesus returns then the door to salvation will closed and the time for judgment will began.

SENSITIVE TO WARNING:

"Because thine heart was tender, and thou hast humbled thyself before the Lord, when thou heardest what I spake against this place, and against the inhabitants thereof, that they should become a desolation and a curse, and hast rent thy clothes, and wept before me; I also have heard thee, saith the Lord" 2Kings 22:19

Many despise warning, and perish. Happy is he who trembles at the word of the Lord. Josiah did so, and he was spared the sight of the evil which the Lord determined to send upon Judah because of her great sins. Have you this tenderness? Do you practice this self-humiliation? Then you also shall be spared in the evil day. God sets a mark upon the men that sigh and cry because of the sin of the times. The destroying angel is commanded to keep his sword in its sheath till the elect of God are sheltered: these are best known by their godly fear, and their trembling at the Word of the Lord. Are the times threatening? Do Popery and Infidelity advance with great strides, and do you dread national chastisement upon this polluted nation? Well you may. Yet rest in this promise, "Thou shalt be gathered into thy grave in peace: and thine eyes shall not see all the evil which I will bring upon this place." Better still, the Lord Himself may come, and then the days of our mourning shall be ended.

How few have singleness of eye to God's glory!

Oh, how many ministers do I see led by . . .

ambition,

pride,

self-interest, or

covetousness!

How few have singleness of eye to God's glory!
