Trust in the Lord

Daily PromisesBlue Letter BibleJanuary 30, 2009
Thou [art] my hiding place; thou shalt preserve me from trouble; thou shalt compass me about with songs of deliverance. Selah. (Psalms 32:7)
The Lord our God is the High King of Deliverance! There is no calamity so great that He might be unable to rescue us. Even when we were dead of spirit and purebred haters of Him, He saw fit to rescue us from ourselves. He gave the dead new life. There is no difficulty so strong that He cannot save us. Trust in the Lord with all of your heart and He will surely deliver!

Touching story

KURTIS THE STOCK BOYANDBRENDA THE CHECKOUT GIRLIn a supermarket, Kurtis the stock boy, was busily working when a new voicecame over the loud speaker asking for a carry out at register 4. Kurtis wasalmost finished, and wanted to get some fresh air, and decided to answer thecall. As he approached the check-out stand a distant smile caught his eye, thenew check-out girl was beautiful. She was an older woman (maybe 26, and he wasonly 22) and he fell in love.Later that day, after his shift was over, he waited by the punch clock to findout her name. She came into the break room, smiled softly at him, took her cardand punched out, then left. He looked at her card, BRENDA. He walked out onlyto see her start walking up the road. Next day, he waited outside as she leftthe supermarket, and offered her a ride home. He looked harmless enough, and sheaccepted. When he dropped her off, he asked if maybe he could see her again, outside of work. She simply said it wasn't possible. He pressed and she explained she had two children and she couldn't afford ababy-sitter, so he offered to pay for the baby-sitter. Reluctantly she acceptedhis offer for a date for the following Saturday. That Saturday night he arrivedat her door only to have her tell him that she was unable to go with him. Thebaby-sitter had called and canceled. To which Kurtis simply said, "Well, let's take the kids with us."She tried to explain that taking the children was not an option, but again nottaking no for an answer, he pressed. Finally Brenda, brought him inside to meether children. She had an older daughter who was just as cute as a bug, Kurtisthought, then Brenda brought out her son, in a wheelchair. He was born aparaplegic with Down Syndrome.Kurtis asked Brenda, "I still don't understand why the kids can'tcome with us?" Brenda was amazed. Most men would run away from a womanwith two kids, especially if one had disabilities - just like her first husbandand father of her children had done. Kurtis was not ordinary - - - he had adifferent mindset. That evening Kurtis and Brenda loaded up the kids, went to dinner and themovies. When her son needed anything Kurtis would take care of him. When heneeded to use the restroom, he picked him up out of his wheelchair, took him andbrought him back. The kids loved Kurtis. At the end of the evening, Brendaknew this was the man she was going to marry and spend the rest of her lifewith.A year later, they were married and Kurtis adopted both of her children. Since then they have added two more kids.So what happened to Kurtis the stock boy and Brenda the check-out girl? Well,Mr. & Mrs. Kurt Warner now live in Arizona , where he is currently employedas the quarterback of the National Football League Arizona Cardinals and has hisCardinals in the hunt for a possible appearance in the Super Bowl. Is this asurprise ending or could you have guessed that he was not an ordinary person. It should be noted that he also quarterbacked the Rams in Super Bowl XXXVI. He has also been the NLF's Most Valuable Player twice and the Super Bowl's Most Valuable Player.
More importantly, he is also an awesome Christian.................

Hi,
We are quite busy these days. I am sorry I didn't get a chance to write anything for a while.

The weather has been warmer last week and cold again this week-end. Keeps going up and down like a yoyo.

Tamara will be 12 in a bit more than a week and we will be getting to celebrate next week-end. Those of you who are able to come next Saturday, let me know and I will give you the details.

Joshua has been having problems with headaches and migraines, but is better now. We will be doing another blood test the week after. It seems to be Thassalemia. Which means he will need extra iron. But I praise the Lord he will not require medications and it is not life threatening.

God bless,

Nathalie

God's Wings

Feather paintings
Make sure you read the story at the end - quite moving and somehow not really surprising. Truly Amazing! And so is the story at the end!
That's It .... The End! WOW!!!!!!
God's Wings -
A little something to put things in perspective...
After a forest fire in Yellowstone National Park , forest rangers began their trek up a mountain to assess the inferno's damage. One ranger found a bird literally petrified in ashes, perched statuesquely on the ground at the base of a tree. Somewhat sickened by the eerie sight, he knocked over the bird with a stick. When he gently struck it, three tiny chicks scurried from under their dead mother's wings. The loving mother, keenly aware of impending disaster, had carried her offspring to the base of the tree and had gathered them under her wings, instinctively knowing that the toxic smoke would rise. She could have flown to safety but had refused to abandon her babies. Then the blaze had arrived and the heat had scorched her small body, the mother had remained steadfast ...because she had been willing to die, so those under the cover of her wings would live.

'He will cover you with His feathers, And under His wings you will find refuge.' (Psalm 91:4)

Being loved this much should make a difference in your life. Remember the One who loves you, and then be different because of it. My instructions were to send this to people that I wanted God to bless and I picked you. Please pass this on to people you want to be blessed. Time waits for no one. Treasure every moment you have. You will treasure it even more when you can share it with someone special. To realize the value of a friend...lose one.
